There were milestones aplenty for St. Michael-Albertville senior Landon Robideau to chase this season.

In his sights were:

  • State and possible national records for takedowns in a single season.
  • The state record for consecutive victories.
  • A fourth straight individual championship.
  • Moving up on the state career victories list.

All were lofty goals worthy of a wrestler of Robideau’s stature and national reputation. While Robideau doesn’t deny setting records is a strong motivator, his primary goal was much more magnanimous. He thrives on guiding and helping develop and inspire younger wrestlers.

In both cases, Robideau achieved the goals he was reaching for, which is why he is the obvious choice for the All-Minnesota Boys Wrestler of the Year.
